All About Mrs. McKinney
Welcome to third grade at Pebble Creek! I am looking forward to meeting you and building a strong relationship with you and your child.
This is the start of my twenty-ninth year in education. I graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) with a Bachelor of Science. I then completed my graduate studies and obtained a Master of Education at Texas A&M University. I began my teaching career in Bryan at Crockett Elementary where I taught third and fourth grade for a total of seven years. I came to Pebble Creek when it opened and taught second grade for ten years. Eleven years ago, I returned to my favorite group of children, third graders! I feel blessed to be a part of the third grade team.
I am the mother of two children, Ryan who is a senior at Texas State University, and Sara who is a sophomore at Texas A&M University. (It was only yesterday when they were both starting Kindergarten at Pebble Creek!) My husband, Scott, is retired from TxDOT and spends time working our ten acres of land in Iola along with managing his RV park located on the land.
Your child will receive instruction from me this year in math, science and social studies. My goal is for your child to master the necessary skills for third grade, but more importantly to grow in confidence and problem solving skills. I look forward to guiding your child through this year of academic growth.
